REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The dark-toned slick had partially diffuse edges, a high contrast against its surroundings, and was located approximately 29 nm NE of Port Eads, LA. The anomaly measured approximately 3.1 nm in length, and 1.4 nm at the widest point. Winds near the time of the image were out of the ENE at approximately 9 kts. NRC #1385365 reported a release of crude oil from a pipeline in the vicinity of the anomaly.

UNCERTAINTIES: While the anomaly was located approximately 2.4 nm W of the MPOG-11015 hotline, the suspected source was in much closer proximity to the spill reported in NRC #1385365 and is most likely to be the source of the slick.
