REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil, but its discrete, well-defined appearance indicates it was likely produced by a marine vessel. The potential bilge dumping was centered about 37 nm due east of Fort Lauderdale, straddled the U.S. EEZ boundary, and measured 4 nm long and 0.5 nm wide. No other pollution or false positive events were in the vicinity. Winds at the spill's location at the time of the satellite image were southerly between 10-15 knots.

UNCERTAINTIES: There was no vessel directly connected to the slick, so the point source could not be determined.
