REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The possible oil appeared to emanate from an active producing well in the South Marsh Island area of Louisiana. It contained multiple segments and measured approximately 6.0 nmi in length, and was up to 0.15 nmi in width. The slick appeared dark and stood out well against the background. It also had sharp unnatural turns and exhibited feathering. Winds at the time of image were from the SW at 5-10 knots, consistent with the feathering signature. Confidence was determined to be high given the association with a suspected point source.
