Remarks: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. Appearing to emanate from a Northwards bound vessel, the slick measured approximately 45.64 nmi in length and 0.17 nmi in width. The slick sharply contrasted with the surrounding water, demonstrated signs of feathering, and widened with distance. In certain portions of the slick, metallic sheens were observed, indicative of thicker oil. In addition, the slick’s trajectory took several right angle turns. All these factors strongly indicate this being a potential bilge dump. The winds near the time of the image were out of the North around 19 kt. Confidence for this report is High.
