REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was 35 NM east of Point Arena, crossing from central to northern California lease areas. The anomaly showed characteristics of a bilge dump, with strong contrast against the background and a linear, unnatural shape trailing to the SE behind a suspected source vessel traveling NW. The possible bilge pollution measured 17 NM long and was .25 NM across the wider SE end, where it segmented into pieces and became less defined. Winds were 10 kts from NW.



UNCERTAINTIES: The anomaly was not directly attached to the suspected source vessel but appeared to match its trajectory.
