REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. This anomaly was believed to be associated with NRC #1469579, which reported an unknown sheen at the incident location on 8/02. It appeared to emanate from a facility located in Green Canyon block 468, traveling southward. The linear anomaly exhibited strong contrast against the ocean background in optical imagery, with multiple scattered segments of white and rainbow sheen throughout, indicating possible thicker oil. Overall, the anomaly measured 1.2 NM and was .07 NM at its widest point. Winds at the time of the image were from the SW at around 2 kts.

UNCERTAINTIES: The full extent of the anomaly may have been underestimated due to the presence of false positives further to the south.
