REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly appeared to emanate from the known repeat leak source, Wreck 1487, located 90 NM south of Nantucket, Massachusetts. It exhibited strong contrast against the ocean background in optical imagery with a silvery sheen, indicative of possible thicker oil. Overall, the anomaly measured 1.05 NM long and was less than 0.1 NM at its widest. Winds near the time of the image were out of the northwest at 12 kts.

UNCERTAINTIES: Partial cloud cover may have obscured the full extent of the anomaly.
