REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. It was located approximately 9 NM northeast of Padre Island, Texas. The anomaly exhibited a light sheen against the ocean background in optical imagery, with a portion of a silvery rainbow sheen at the northwestern end, indicative of possible thicker oil. Possible oil continued towards the southwest before blending in with the ocean background. Overall, the anomaly measured 2.9 NM in length and was 0.14 NM at its widest. Winds near the time of the image were out of the southwest at 8 kts.

UNCERTAINTIES: No point source could be identified. The nearest pipeline was located 0.32 NM east of the northwestern end of the anomaly.
