Eumetsat continues efforts to restore Metop-2/A operations and have issued the following information:
As of 1652 UTC on 23 April 2007, the NIU switch-on was successful.. Tentative plans are:
1) AVHRR Recovery with Patch Control ON and Visible Channels ON (MEAS Part 1): April 24 from 08:37 to 09:01 UTC
2) HIRS Recovery with Patch Control ON (MEAS Part 1): April 24 from 08:37 to 09:01 UTC
3) AMSU-A1 Recovery to Measurement Mode: April 24 from 10:26 to 10:42 UTC
4) AMSU-A2 Recovery to Measurement Mode: April 24 from 12:07 to 12:22 UTC
5) SEM Recovery to ON (uP-A): April 24 from 13:47 to 14:02 UTC
6) SARR Recovery to ON (RxA-TxA): April 24 from 15:27 to 15:42 UTC
Depending on the time required for AVHRR and HIRS to reach their patch control temperatures, Eumetsat has a contingency pass near the end of the day where recovery AVHRR Part 2 (IR Channels ON) may occur.
