Details/Specifics of Change:
It has been previously announced that plans are to begin processing all POES
data in the new NOAA-N format in mid January 2005. However, it should be
also announced that there " will not" be any retroprocessing of data for
NOAA-15,16, and 17 in the new format. Once the processing in the new format
has begun it will only affect satellite data from that date ( ample
notification will be given as to the starting date ) and thereafter. This
may be of concern to users who have projects ongoing that use archived data.
