*Details/Specifics of Change:*
Information Processing Division personnel, after consultation with the instrument scientist, have modified the gross filtering limits used during level-1b processing of NOAA-16 AMSU-A and AMSU-B. These changes were necessary to prevent gross filtering of good calibration data, which was about to occur with the previous limits. The modifications were as follows:
AMSU-A space view:
Ch 1 lower limit changed to 10900 from 11850 and upper limit changed to 13000 from 12300
Ch 2 lower limit changed to 11000 from 11800 and upper limit changed to 13100 from 12400
Ch 3 lower limit changed to 10500 from 11400 and upper limit changed to 12600 from 12000
Ch 5 lower limit changed to 10500 from 11300 and upper limit changed to 12600 from 11900
Ch 6 lower limit changed to 11800 from 12500 and upper limit changed to 13900 from 13100
Ch 7 lower limit changed to 12300 from 13000 and upper limit changed to 14400 from 13700
Ch 8 lower limit changed to 10200 from 11000 and upper limit changed to 12300 from 12000
Ch 9 lower limit changed to 11500 from 12200 and upper limit changed to 13700 from 13500
Ch 10 lower limit changed to 11200 from 12000 and upper limit changed to 13300 from 12800
Ch 11 lower limit changed to 13000 from 13600 and upper limit changed to 15200 from 14500
Ch 12 lower limit changed to 13000 from 13800 and upper limit changed to 15200 from 14600
Ch 13 lower limit changed to 13800 from 14600 and upper limit changed to 16000 from 15400
Ch 14 lower limit changed to 13200 from 14100 and upper limit changed to 15400 from 15000
Ch 15 lower limit changed to 12900 from 13700 and upper limit changed to 15000 from 14500

AMSU-A blackbody view:
Ch 1 lower limit changed to 15300 from 16100 and upper limit changed to 17500 from 16800
Ch 2 lower limit changed to 15300 from 16000 and upper limit changed to 17500 from 16800
Ch 3 lower limit changed to 14500 from 15400 and upper limit changed to 16600 from 16200

Ch 9 lower limit changed to 15500 from 16400 and upper limit changed to 17700 from 17400
Ch 10 lower limit changed to 15200 from 16000 and upper limit changed to 17400 from 16800
Ch 11 lower limit changed to 17300 from 18000 and upper limit changed to 19600 from 19000
Ch 12 lower limit changed to 16900 from 17600 and upper limit changed to 19200 from 18600

Ch 14 lower limit changed to 17500 from 19000 and upper limit changed to 20200 from 21000
[NOTE: The lower limit change to 17500 was made at 2027 UTC on 17 December to eliminate gross filtering that was occurring with Ch 14 at that time]
Ch 15 lower limit changed to 14800 from 15800 and upper limit changed to 17100 from 16600
