Topic:
Solar Array Move May Cause Data Shifts

Date/Time(UTC) Message Issued:
19 June 2003, 17150 UTC

Satellite(s) Involved:
NOAA-14

Instrument(s) Involved:
All instruments

Product(s) Involved/Affected:
All Products/increase charge currents and possible thermal profile
changes

Date/Time(UTC) of Initial Implementation:
19 June 2003, Time 1820 UTC

Details/Specifics of Change:
On June 19, SOCC is planning to change the solar array offset from -50 to
-45. This change is to optimize battery charger performance to allow a
constant charge current to all batteries. Users may notice data changes as
instrument temperature may go up or down due to the solar array shadow
moving.
