DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0000Z November 24, 2019

SMOKE:
Sacramento Valley...
Widespread agricultural burning was noted across much of the Sacramento
Valley today. For the most part, this smoke was light, although one or two
burns were emitting moderate density smoke. Another fire just along/north
of the valley rim was also producing smoke, although the smoke from this
fire was thick. Smoke from nearly all fires was generally moving south
to south-southeast.

Northwestern U.S...
Scattered fire and smoke activity was observed across Oregon and into
Idaho. The smoke was mainly light, although the smoke emanating from the
fires in eastern Oregon was thicker than the rest. The smoke from the
eastern Oregon fires was moving northeastward until a wind shift began
to move some of the smoke southward. Light smoke from fires in western
Oregon were moving west.

Southern Plains...
This afternoon, a few smoke plumes were noted across the southern
Plains. The smoke was mainly light in nature outside a fire in northeast
Texas near the Louisiana border and was moving off toward the southeast.

Southeastern U.S...
Earlier today, many light smoke plumes were noted associated with
prescribed burning south of Lake Okeechobee, which were moving north.

SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED
FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE.
TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS.  AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE
ALSO DESCRIBED.  USERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VIEW A GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF THESE
SambucciAND OTHER PLUMES WHICH ARE LESS EXTENSIVE AND STILL ATTACHED TO
THE SOURCE
