DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Oregon... Numerous wildfires were observed producing light density smoke plumes across the state. The smoke plumes were observed moving west, Washington... A wildfire was north of North Bay was seen producing a large light density smoke plume that was extending west well into the Pacific Ocean. Southeast U.S... Seasonal and agricultural burning was observed producing small light density smoke plumes in Alabama. Heavy cloud cover precluded further analysis in the state and other parts of the region. AEROSOL/SMOKE: Southern Texas/Mexico/Tropical Eastern Pacific Ocean/Gulf of Mexico/Central America... A mixture of aerosol combining with remnant light smoke from localized fires in southern Mexico was observed over southern Texas, western Gulf of Mexico, eastern/southern Mexico, the Bay of Campeche and northern Central America extending into the Tropical Eastern Pacific Ocean off the southwest coast of Mexico. DUST: Light blowing dust was observed moving south through central Texas. Nguyen THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
