DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Central Northern and Southern California Coast and Pacific Ocean... Mostly light density smoke, from the wildfire over portions of southern California and seasonal burning in central California. The smoke was was seen in central/northern California as well as along coastal locations of southern and central California and extending offshore into the Pacific Ocean New Jersey and New York: Several brush fires were noted on satellite imagery early today over southern and central New Jersey and also over northern New Jersey just west of the Hudson River. This evening light density remnant smoke was seen offshore in the Atlantic Ocean. Saskatchewan/Manitoba... Moderate seasonal burning was observed in southern Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba this evening. The fires were creating an area of light density smoke generally moving northeast. AEROSOL/SMOKE: Southwestern Mexico, Eastern Mexico and the Western Gulf of Mexico... An area of light density smoke/aerosols attributed to scattered fire activity, volcanic emissions and industrial sources was seen today along the southern and southwestern Pacific Coast of Mexico extending north through southern Mexico and along the east coast of Mexico to southern portions of Texas. Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
