Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment-2 (GOME-2)

GOME-2, a European instrument on MetOp satellites, produces NESDIS products using the SBUV/2 version 8 algorithm. These products include total ozone, aerosol index, and reflectivity. Granule products come in gif, binary, or BUFR formats, while daily products (1 x 1.25 deg maps) are available as ASCII or GRIB2 files.

Total Ozone Analysis Using S-NPP/OMPS LP and NOAA-20/CrIS (LTOAST)

This algorithm, a new generation of TOAST, upgrades the sensor data sources from SBUV/2 and HIRS to OMPS LP (S-NPP) and CrIS (NOAA-20), enhancing product accuracy and ensuring TOAST's ongoing support for ozone research and users.

Total Ozone Analysis Using NOAA20/OMPS and NOAA-20/CrIS (NTOASTJ1)

This upgraded algorithm replaces SBUV/2 and HIRS with advanced sensors, OMPS NP (NOAA-20) and CrIS (NOAA-20), resulting in improved product accuracy and sustained support for ozone research and users.

Ozone Mapping Profile Suite SO2

Sulfur dioxide (SO2) produced from volcanoes and anthropogenic sources is also monitored by OMPS. OMPS provides near real-time data to detect, monitor, and characterize SO2 and ash injected into the atmosphere from volcanic eruptions.

Ozone Mapping and Profile Suite

OMPS measures the global distribution of the total atmospheric ozone column on a daily basis. It also measures the vertical distribution of ozone from about 15 km to 60 km, though somewhat less frequently. Ozone is an important molecule in the atmosphere.
