SATELLITE ANALYSIS AND TRENDS...RECENT SATELLITE IMAGERY SHOWS A WELL DEFINED UPPER LEVEL TROUGH IN ASSOCIATION WITH CYCLONIC CIRCULATION ON SATELLITE NEAR 20N/160W APPROACHING THE CENTRAL HAWAIIAN ISLANDS: MAUI, LANAI, KAHOOLAWE. SSMIS/AMSU PW MOISTURE QUANTITIES ARE 1.7 INCHES. THE AMSU SATELLITE PASS INDICATED BETTER BRIGHTNESS TEMPERATURE VALUES WEST OF THE CENTRAL ISLANDS IN THE HAWAIIAN ISLAND CHAIN. AN MCV WAS INDICATED IN THE RADAR ECHO PATTERN NEAR 20N/157W AT 1730Z; IT WAS MOVING TO THE NORTH AND EAST, WITH STREAMERS FROM AN EASTERLY DIRECTION CAN BE
